Introduction
This Privacy Policy describes how Binaax (we, us, our) collects, uses, and shares information about you when you use our website-builder service at binaax.app and any related services, programmes, and promotions (the Service).
This includes Binaax for Schools (binaax.app/schools), which equips secondary schools with laptops and a learning management system, as well as enquiries we collect through forms on our site and through lead ads on platforms such as Facebook and Instagram.
We're a Nigeria-based platform built for African small businesses and schools. Wherever possible we keep things minimal — we collect only what we need to run the Service, and we don't sell your data.
Information we collect
Account information
When you sign up we collect your name, email address, and (optionally) profile photo via our authentication provider Clerk. If you sign up with Google, Google shares only what you allow on the consent screen (typically: name, email, profile picture).
Project content
Anything you describe in the chat or upload as an image is stored to generate and serve your website. This includes your business description, edits you make, product details, and assets like logos and photos. You retain ownership of all content you create.
Payment information
Payments are processed by Paystack. We do not store full card numbers, CVVs, or PINs on our servers. We do store the payment reference, amount, currency, and status returned by Paystack so we can issue receipts and apply your subscription.
Lead and enquiry information
When you submit a form on our site (for example the build form or the Binaax for Schools registration) or a lead ad form on Facebook or Instagram, we collect the information you provide. Depending on the form, this may include your name, business or school name, your role, email address, phone number (including for WhatsApp follow-up), location or state, the number of students, and any message or details you enter. On lead ads, some fields may be pre-filled by the platform from your profile — you choose whether to submit them.
School and student records (Learning Management System)
Schools that use our Learning Management System enter and manage their own student and staff records — such as enrolment details, results, attendance and fees. We process this information on behalf of and under the instructions of the school, which remains responsible for it as the data controller. We use it only to provide the LMS to that school and do not use it for our own purposes.
Usage information
We collect basic technical information when you visit the Service: IP address, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps. This helps us debug issues and understand which features are working.
How we use information
- To provide, maintain, and improve the Service
- To generate websites from your descriptions and apply your edits
- To contact you about an enquiry, registration, or programme you signed up for — by email, phone, or WhatsApp
- To provide the programmes you register for, such as Binaax for Schools (delivering laptops and setting up the LMS for your school)
- To process payments and apply subscription access
- To send transactional emails (welcome, site published, payment receipts, subscription notices) — we don't send marketing emails without explicit opt-in
- To respond to support requests
- To detect, prevent, and address abuse
Data retention
We keep your account and project data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your projects and personal information from our active systems within 30 days. Backups may persist for up to 90 days before being purged.
Payment records are retained for 7 years to comply with financial record-keeping regulations.
Your rights
You can access, update, or delete your account information at any time from your dashboard. To request a full data export or to delete your account entirely, email hi@stackjunior.com and we'll respond within 7 working days.
Security
We use HTTPS everywhere, hash passwords with industry-standard algorithms (handled by Clerk), and store secrets server-side. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to make a meaningful breach unlikely.
Children
Binaax accounts are intended for users 18 and over, and we don't knowingly collect information directly from children under 18. If you become aware that a child has provided us with information directly, please contact us so we can delete it.
Where a school uses our Learning Management System to manage records of students who may be under 18, that information is provided and controlled by the school. We process it only on the school's behalf and instructions, and the school is responsible for obtaining any consents required from parents or guardians.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated via email or a prominent notice on the Service. The “Updated” date at the top of this page tells you when this version took effect.
